Fees & Insurance

My fee for psychotherapy is $220 for each 50-55 minute session.

I do not bill insurance. Depending on your out-of-network insurance coverage, you may be able to receive some reimbursement from your insurance company after you have paid for your sessions. I provide invoices for this purpose on a monthly basis and encourage you to contact your insurance company and ask them if you have outpatient mental health benefits, the number of visits per year that are covered, and what portion of these services would be covered.

My hope is to maintain a sustainable practice model, while recognizing barriers to accessing psychotherapy. To this end, I allocate a limited portion of my practice for sliding scale spots, particularly welcoming graduate students, especially those from marginalized communities, and individuals in need of financial flexibility.

The initial appointment is an opportunity to discuss what is of concern to you, for me to determine if my experience and training are a good fit for you and for you to evaluate if I am the best person to help you. If we decide to work together, we will schedule another appointment at this time and begin to develop a plan for meeting your goals for therapy. Throughout the process for working together, we will monitor and evaluate progress and make changes as necessary.

Good Faith Estimate – No Surprises Act

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call HHS at 1-800-985-3059
